The Big House will be rocking again this fall.

On Thursday, the University of Michigan’s athletic department announced that the school is planning to allow 100% capacity for sporting events, beginning with fall sports. That means one of college football’s most iconic venues should be back at full strength.

Many schools in the B1G and across the country have released similar statements, saying the plan is to welcome fans back at 100% capacity for the fall. The news out of Ann Arbor comes after Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced that outdoor stadiums can return to full capacity beginning June 1.

“Based upon this latest order and what we now know, this guidance from the State of Michigan clears the path for Michigan Athletics events to return to full capacity beginning with the fall competition,” the school said in a statement. “Should federal, state, local or campus public health guidelines change, we will update you as soon as that information becomes available.

“Prior to the fall season, we will communicate a set of general safety guidelines and steps that our department has taken to ensure the health and safety of student-athletes, staff and guests. For more information regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, please visit UofMHealth.org.”

Michigan is scheduled to play seven games at the Big House in 2021, hosting Western Michigan, Washington and Northern Illinois in nonconference play. In B1G games, the Wolverines will host Rutgers, Northwestern, Indiana and Ohio State.
