New Michigan staff members Bob Shoop and Brian Jean-Mary have signed their new contracts, agreeing to two-year deals with the university.

Angelique Chengelis of The Detroit News tweeted out images of the signed contracts for Shoop and Jean-Mary, which become public record. Both assistants agreed to two-year deals.

Shoop, the new safeties coach for the Wolverines, will make $450,000 in his first season, and will see a pay increase of $100,000 for the 2020 season, making a base salary of $550,000. Shoop comes to Michigan after spending the last two seasons at Mississippi State under Joe Moorhead.

Jean-Mary is scheduled to make $415,000 in 2020, followed by $450,000 the following year, a pay increase of $35,000. He was brought in to coach linebackers after serving as the defensive coordinator at USF.

If either coach leaves before the contract ends, they will owe Michigan “a buyout equal to 100% of your then-current annual base salary.” It must be paid within 30 days of the departure announcement.

Michigan finished the 2019 season with a 9-4 record.
