Michigan State went into the portal on Early Signing Day and exited with Quindarius Dunnigan out of MTSU.

Dunnigan played in 33 games over the last 4 years with the Blue Raiders. He accounted for 35 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks this year. He is the 5th player to transfer to East Lansing since the hiring of Jonathan Smith.

Georgia Tech, Cal, Liberty, Arizona State, and Memphis were the only other schools outside of Michigan State that sent Dunnigan an offer. Dunnigan entered the portal on Nov. 29.

The Spartans also added former Wisconsin linebacker Jordan Turner and former Oregon State tight end Jack Velling recently. Ex-Oregon State quarterback Aidan Chiles and former Purdue wideout T.J. Sheffield have also committed to Michigan State via the portal.

Smith now has 2 edge rushers in his 2024 class. Dunnigan joins 3-star verbal commit Kekai Burnett out of Hawaii.

Michigan State continues to work the portal ahead of Smith’s 1st season with the program.
