Minnesota has already secured one improbable win and moved to 9-0 on the season, but ESPN’s FPI does not envision that perfect record lasting much longer.

When Penn State visited Minneapolis over the weekend, the Gophers were given just a 25.9% chance of winning the game on the FPI. Thankfully, the game played out much differently on the field.

Regardless of the outcome of the final three games, P.J. Fleck has already led Minnesota to its best season since 2016. Fleck and company will also have a chance to record back-to-back bowl wins for the first time since 2015-16.

Unfortunately, the FPI is predicting the Gophers to finish the season with 10 wins. Tough games against Iowa and Wisconsin are the two speed bumps remaining, and Minnesota will likely need to win at least two of the final three games to win the B1G West.

Here is how the FPI is predicting the final three games:

  • Nov. 16 @ Iowa – 39.2%
  • Nov. 23 @ Northwestern – 86.4%
  • Nov. 30 vs Wisconsin – 39.4%
