Minnesota football added a commitment from former Georgia Southern defensive back Tyler Bride Saturday afternoon.

Bride started 10 games for Georgia Southern last season, seeing 694 defensive snaps for the Eagles. He appeared in all 13 games the Eagles played.

The 3-year veteran will have 2 seasons of eligibility remaining for the Golden Gophers.

Bride is fresh off his best season in college football, too. He totaled 42 tackles for the Eagles in 2022, also adding 3 tackles for loss, 11 pass deflections and 2 interceptions, leading the team.

That’s a huge addition for the Golden Gophers, who are putting together a quietly nice 2023 roster. Bride, who is originally from Atlanta, was rated as the No. 690 prospect in the country and the No. 88 cornerback in the nation in the Class of 2019.
