Report: PJ Fleck, Minnesota losing another assistant to a B1G East program
PJ Fleck led Minnesota to a 9-win season and a bowl win during the 2021 season. Now, he’s having to replace some pieces to his coaching staff heading into 2022.
Following the end of the season, the Gophers have watched TE coach Clay Patterson depart for the Pac-12 via Colorado and co-DC/safeties coach Joe Harasymiak leave to take the DC job at Rutgers. Monday morning, it was reported that another member of Minnesota’s defensive staff is leaving for a B1G East program.
That assistant is DL coach Chad Wilt. According to Ryan Burns with Gopher Illustrated, Wilt is leaving the Gophers to join Tom Allen’s staff at Indiana. Burns is also reported that the job with the Hoosiers is expected to be a more prominent position than his DL job at Minnesota.
#Gophers defensive line coach Chad Wilt has accepted a position at Indiana with Tom Allen, sources told GopherIllustrated. Wilt had been with Minnesota the last two seasons.

It is certainly worth noting Indiana lost DC Charlton Warren to a spot on North Carolina’s staff over the weekend. Warren will be working under new Tar Heel DC Gene Chizik in Chapel Hill.
Wilt had been with Minnesota since 2020 and has previous stops at Cincinnati, Maryland, and Army among a number of others on his resumé.
