ESPN's FPI predicts outcome of Nebraska-Boston College bowl game
ESPN’s FPI predictor released its early analysis on the Pinstripe Bowl later this month that will pit Nebraska against Boston College.
The Cornhuskers and Eagles will kick things off at shortly after noon ET on ABC on Dec. 28 from venerable Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. For Nebraska, it will be a breath of fresh air just to be playing a postseason game, as the Cornhuskers will be making their first bowl appearance since 2016.
Nebraska went 6-6 this season with star freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola at the helm. Earlier this week, with rumors swirling about Raiola’s possible move to the transfer portal, Raiola told everyone who would listen that he was staying in Lincoln for 2025 and head coach Matt Rhule backed up Raiola’s words of loyalty.
As for the bowl game that will conclude Nebraska’s 2024 season, Boston College comes into the matchup after a 7-5 regular season. With the bowl game featuring 2 teams at or near .500, it’s no surprise that ESPN’s FPI predictor believes the game will be very close.
The FPI currently gives the Eagles a 50.3% chance to prevail, while Nebraska is given a 49.7% chance to win. That’s about as close as you can get, especially for a bowl game, and the Cornhuskers would love nothing more than to close out a bounce-back season for the program with a bowl victory in the Bronx.
