Nebraska apparel has been flying off the shelves since Scott Frost was hired as the head coach prior to the start of the 2018 season. Athletic director Bill Moos says the school has seen quite the uptick in sales over the last year.

Moos joined the Omaha World-Herald podcast “The Bottom Line” recently, talking about the impact Frost has had on the program. His return to Lincoln has sparked new energy in the proud tradition of Huskers football.

It’s resulting in an upswing in sales.

On the podcast, Moos said that apparel sales have increased “30 to 35 percent” since Frost was hired in December 2017, a full calendar year.

“But it’s always been very, very good,” Moos said of sales. “Once you cross that border into Nebraska, it’s all red. That red has to come from somewhere.”

Frost’s first season in Lincoln didn’t quite go as planned, as Nebraska finished the year 4-8. The Huskers rallied after an abysmal 0-6 start, the worst in program history. They won four of their final six games, including victories over Minnesota, Bethune-Cookman, Illinois and Michigan State.

Despite the record, Nebraska is already listed as a top 25 candidate in CBS Sports’ way-too-early rankings for 2019 and quarterback Adrian Martinez is among one of the few names from the B1G with favorable Heisman Trophy odds.

Apparel sales won’t be taking a huge hit anytime soon.
