Maurice Washington is a sophomore running back at Nebraska. He has played in all seven games for the Huskers this season.
Part of the intrigue with that factoid has been that Washington is facing criminal charges under California’s “revenge porn” law in connection to a video of a Bay Area teen allegedly being sexually assaulted.

Washington’s preliminary hearing date has been pushed back many times already — the latest coming this past week, pushing the date back to Dec. 12.
On Monday, Nebraska released its latest depth chart for the week ahead, which features a game against Indiana. For the first time all season, Washington was not listed on the depth chart.
Following the depth chart being released, Husker coach Scott Frost spoke with the media during his weekly press conference. He, of course, had to talk about Washington:
Scott Frost says that Washington has not practiced since the Huskers returned from Minnesota. His absence is not related to Washington's court case in California, according to the coach.

Scott Frost says Maurice Washington is not a part of the team this week. "You won’t see him being a part of our plans in the immediate future," Frost said. Certain things are non-negotiable, according to the coach.

Apparently Washington is not a part of the team this week. And, certain things are non-negotiable. Frost said that his absence has nothing to do with his ongoing court case. So, what did he do?
Frost was asked if Washington not being a part of the team is indefinite. He responded:
“No, those are your words, not mine.”
We don’t know how long this will last or what exactly Washington has done to not be a part of the team this week. From the sound of it, though, in the video below, Washington could be done forever as a Husker:

We’ll wait and see what the latest is as the season goes along. But, in the end, there may not be much to see. Washington’s time in Lincoln could be up as of October 21.
