What Scott Frost said as Nebraska gears up for Wisconsin with adjusted staff
Nebraska made a shocking move, firing most of its offensive staff following Scott Frost’s restructured contract.
The Cornhuskers have quickly filled the missing gaps with interim coaches, however. The Running backs coach will be Ron Brown. Frank Verducci will coach the offensive line. Stever Cooper will be working with the quarterbacks, and Mike Cazano is going to be the wide receivers coach for the remainder of the season.
Now, the Cornhuskers look ahead to their first game with the new group against No. 18 Wisconsin. The Badgers are currently on a 6-game winning streak, with their last loss to No. 14 Michigan in Week 4.
Nebraska’s last game was a 26-17 loss to No. 5 Ohio State in Week 11. The Cornhuskers were in the game up until the fourth quarter, when the Buckeyes made a go-ahead 46-yard field goal with 1:29 left in the game.
Adrian Martinez put on a good performance, but his 248 yards passing and 1 touchdown weren’t enough to complete the upset.
Nebraska hasn’t beaten Wisconsin since the 2012 regular season. The Badgers have won 7-straight against the Cornhuskers, and they actually started the streak in that same 2012 season by beating them in the B1G Championship game.
Frost spoke about the new contract, his new staff, and many other things at his press conference.
Here’s what the Nebraska head coach had to say:

Scott Frost says tempo may not be the right thing the next two weeks on O given the two excellent Ds. Wisconsin, Frost said, allows opponents just 58 snaps per game. #huskers

Frost says he doesn’t believe tempo is the answer for these last two games. Sounds like he wants to go ball control against the run heavy teams. That means hammer the Nebraska +10 at Wisconsin this week.
