Raylen Wilson, 4-star LB and ex-Michigan commit, reveals SEC pledge

Michigan still has some work to do on the 2023 recruiting trail, and the Wolverines are coming off a rather disappointing weekend.
On Sunday, 4-star linebacker Raylen Wilson announced his new commitment, choosing head coach Kirby Smart and Georgia over a host of Power 5 offers. Rated the No. 5 LB nationally for the class of 2023, Wilson was committed to the Wolverines since December until reopening his recruitment at the end of June.

Wilson’s decision was just the tip of the iceberg over the weekend. Jim Harbaugh also watched Friday as in-state QB and 5-star prospect Dante Moore elected to head to Oregon over staying home with the Wolverines.
Moore was not the only 5-star target of Michigan to land elsewhere. 5-star WR Jalen Brown out of Miami gave his verbal commitment to LSU on Friday over a finalists group that included Miami, Michigan and Florida State.
As things currently stand, Michigan holds the No. 45 recruiting class for the 2023 cycle. There is still time to make a splash before the Early Signing Period in December, but it was certainly a weekend of hard-to-swallow news for the Wolverines.
