WATCH: Terrible decision by Adrian Martinez leads to disastrous turnover for Cornhuskers

Nebraska’s fast start against Ohio State has quickly evaporated.
The game’s opening drive could not have gone better for Adrian Martinez and the Cornhuskers. The Buckeyes had no answer for the offense as Martinez and company marched down the field for an early 7-0 lead.
Unfortunately, things have gone downhill after that. A botched kickoff attempt, blocked punt, and long Ohio State touchdown has all led to the Buckeyes taking a 16-7 lead over the Cornhuskers.
It looked like the offense would go down the field to cut into that lead before this turnover. Martinez had a chance to make a play with his legs or his arm, but his choice to force a backwards pass to JD Spielman proved costly.
There was little space to operate, and Spielman appeared to be expecting Martinez to go elsewhere with the ball. The backwards pass was easily recovered by the Buckeyes, ending Nebraska’s impressive drive in the red zone.
