Ryan Day addresses prolonged absence of RB TreVeyon Henderson vs. Rutgers
TreVeyon Henderson was off to a hot start and appeared to be headed for a big game against Rutgers.
Henderson started the day off with a nice 44-yard touchdown in the first quarter. That touchdown opened the scoring before the Buckeyes rolled to a dominant 45-6 first half against Rutgers.

The true freshman rushed for 71 yards in quick work on 8 carries. Unfortunately, he did not get much of a chance to add to those numbers.
Henderson was seen heading to the injury tent at one point in the first half. He was not there long, but he was seen afterward without his helmet, a likely indication that his afternoon was done.
Heading into halftime, head coach Ryan Day was asked about Henderson’s absence. Day admitted Henderson was a little banged up but should be just fine.

Henderson was a big part of Ohio State’s fast start, but it is not surprising to see him remain on the sidelines with the game in control. Ohio State is likely to play multiple reserves in the second half of the blowout.
