James Franklin wanted to clear the air about the recent transfer portal losses of RB Cazaiah Holmes and EDGE Ken Talley. He revealed what went into their decisions to transfer via Audrey Snyder of The Athletic.

For Holmes, it was more a RB depth issue, according to Franklin. The team’s leading rusher in Keyvone Lee is back, and Penn State currently has at least 5 other RBs on the roster. Franklin didn’t answer whether it was Talley’s decision to leave was his or not. However, he did reveal that the decision came down to a variety of reasons.

Holmes and Talley were both 4-star recruits out of high school per the 247Sports Composite. Holmes appeared in 11 games for Penn State, while Talley had not yet seen the field.
