Braelon Allen opened the week in an unfortunate position, getting held out of Monday’s practice for Wisconsin. Being held out was reportedly cautionary due to getting knicked up.

The good news is Allen’s stint on the sidelines was extremely brief. According to Raul Vazquez with Badger Blitz, Allen was back on the field for practice on Thursday.

It does not appear Allen was limited or experienced any setbacks during the session.

Though Allen’s absence on Monday was not a good sign, Chez Mellusi showed some promising work for the Badgers. As Mellusi continues his return from a season-ending injury, he ripped off a long touchdown run with multiple cuts in practice.

With both Allen and Mellusi looking healthy at this point in camp, Wisconsin has the makings of a deep and talented backfield entering 2022. Fans will get their first regular-season look at the unit on Sept. 3 when Wisconsin faces Illinois State in the season opener.
