Things are not going well in Knoxville, Tennessee.

As it turns out, the Vols ended up throwing their program into a tailspin earlier this week when they fired coach Jeremy Pruitt for cause.

Pruitt got the axe, officially, because of multiple recruiting violations that Tennessee discovered in an investigation.

As a result of either the firing or the pending NCAA investigation, Tennessee is dealing with a wave of talented transfers.

Former 5-star offensive tackle Wanya Morris (Oklahoma) and running back Ty Chandler (North Carolina) already transferred out earlier this month, but there are four more Tennessee players in the portal as of Wednesday evening.

Those players are running back Eric Gray, linebacker Quavaris Crouch, linebacker Henry To’o To’o and offensive lineman Jahmir Johnson.

To make matters worse, Auburn transfer defensive lineman Big Kat Bryant has deleted a tweet that previously announced his transfer to Tennessee.

It’s unclear whether or not there will be more transfers coming, but an NCAA investigation into recruiting practices certainly won’t help the current roster or the future.

Pruitt went 16-19 in three years as the Vols’ head coach. Things might get worse before they get better again in Knoxville.
