A scary moment unraveled during the third quarter of Washington State’s 31-24 victory over Houston on Friday night.

Trying to avoid contact from Houston wide receiver Keith Corbin, ESPN sideline reporter Paul Carcaterra accidentally backed into one of the Cougars’ base cheerleaders. This resulted in the cheerleader being knocked off balance and dropping another cheerleader.

Below are a couple of angles of the play:

Houston has not provided an update on the status of the cheerleader. Hopefully, she is okay and avoided a serious injury.

The loss drops Houston to 1-2 on the season. With the victory, No. 20 Washington State improves to 3-0.

Their first American Athletic Conference action of the year, Houston travels to New Orleans to face Tulane on Thursday, September 19 (8:00PM ET, ESPN). Mike Leach and Washington State host the UCLA Bruins on Saturday, September 21 (10:30PM ET, ESPN).
