It’s the time of the season where everybody seems to be changing schools. Whether it’s recruits going to new schools, players entering the transfer portal or coaches getting fired and elevated for doing a remarkable job, people are on the move.

At Indiana, it’s no different. Kalen DeBoer had a history at Fresno State before becoming the offensive coordinator with the Hoosiers. But after just one year of succeeding in Bloomington, Fresno State wanted him back.

This time as the Bulldogs’ head coach.

With DeBoer now being the head man in charge, he has to put a staff around him to help him win games. Who will be his defensive coordinator?

Reports say he wants to make Indiana’s special teams coach — William Inge — that person:

This would be quite the loss for Indiana. Not only would it be losing its offensive coordinator, but it would lose its special teams coordinator in the same offseason.

With success comes change, and in college football, it means assistants being elevated to bigger jobs elsewhere. That’s typically how it goes, and after one of the best Indiana seasons in recent memory, the Hoosiers might be on the road to losing some of their best coaches.
