Purdue managed to knock off No. 2-seed Tennessee Thursday night to make the Elite Eight. Can Matt Painter’s squad knock off another high seed in Louisville?

Not surprisingly, the Boilermakers are going to be underdogs against No. 1-seed Virginia. ESPN’s Basketball Power Index gives Purdue only a 24.6 percent chance of winning the regional championship clash Saturday night and punching a ticket to the Final Four.

The Boilermakers are currently 4.5-point underdogs in the eyes of bettors. With the No. 3-seed, this was likely going to be the part of any March Madness run.

The BPI doesn’t always sync with the betting line. It actually gave Purdue a 51.9 percent chance of beating Tennessee even though the Volunteers were listed as 1.5-point favorites at many sportsbooks.

Saturday night’s game is expected to be lower-scoring than Thursday’s overtime thriller. The over/under for the game’s point total is currently set at 126 points.
