The sudden and tragic death of NBA superstar Kobe Bryant has affected nearly everyone across the country. There’s been an incredible number of memories shared and stories told about one of the greatest athletes of his generation.

Since Sunday, millions have shared stories of the impact Bryant had on their life — whether they were close friends, acquaintances, or if he served as a role model. On Wednesday, former Ohio State and Florida head coach Urban Meyer joined in the conversation.

Meyer tweeted out a sincere message on Twitter Wednesday, honoring Bryant. Meyer also shared an image of the two having an interaction recently during a Los Angeles Lakers game.

“Elite warrior,” Meyer tweeted. “I have always used you as an example of a great leader and competitor for all of my teams over the years. Was honored to finally meet you a few weeks ago. My heart goes out to your family and loved ones. Rest in Peace, Kobe.”

Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven others were tragically killed in a helicopter accident on Sunday. Bryant was 41 years old and Gianna was 13.
