Illinois is hosting Eastern Michigan Saturday and the Fighting Illini couldn’t find find the end-zone on their first drive.

However, Illinois did kick a field goal and make it a 3-0 game. James McCourt, the Illinois kicker, blasted his kick 57 yards to tie the school’s all-time record.

Take a look:

To kick it 57 yards is beyond impressive in the NFL. You rarely see a kick like that at the ultimate level of football. But in college?

That’s almost never seen. The longest kick in college football history is actually 67 yards. It has happened four times and the latest occurred in 1988by Tom Odle for Fort Hays State.

Oddly enough, the longest kick in NFL history is 64 yards by former Denver Broncos kicker Matt Prater.
